Find businesses that are similar, but don’t compete directly with your business.
- If you’re a health coach, find people in the fitness industry
- If you’re a makeup artist, find people who style hair
- If you’re a photographer, find someone who does graphic design
The goal of this exercise is to network with other people who have the potential to refer clients to you (and vice versa).
Networking is not a one-way street, so if you plan on connecting, make sure you are willing to provide them with referrals as well.
Similar to how you found accounts that are your ideal clients in Day 3’s exercise, explore hashtags and industry accounts for these parallel businesses.
